Partner at Criminal Defence Firm in Downtown TorontoMichelle S. Fernandes was a partner at Rusonik, O’Connor, Robbins, Ross, Gorham and Angelini L.L.P. (now Rusonik, O’Connor, Robbins, Ross & Angelini, L.L.P.) from 2011 to 2017. The firm was comprised solely of criminal defence lawyers and appellate advocates. Though located in downtown Toronto, they represented clients all over Ontario.
She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. While a student there, she was the recipient of the R. Samuel McLaughlin Foundation Scholars Award entrance scholarship for academic excellence, as well as a Dean’s Fellow for Criminal Law with renowned Professor Alan Young. While working with Professor Alan Young, she was part of the team that worked on the successful appeal of the prostitution laws at the Supreme Court of Canada in Canada (AG) v. Bedford. Practices Criminal Law ExclusivelySince the beginning of her career, she has been exclusively practicing criminal defence law. She has successfully defended all manners of charges in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. She has represented clients facing all manner of charges.
